Nira is a town located 80 km away from Pune, Maharashtra, and it got its name after the Nira river. It is the border city of Pune district and Satara district; also, this city is a border of Purandar tehsil and border to Baramati, Khandala, Phaltan tehsil. By Road

Nira is well connected to Pune via Jejuri, the famous temple town, and saswad. On another side, it is also connected to a prominent pilgrimage place, Pandharpur via Phaltan. The third central town it connects is Baramati, the emerging industrial town.
Many government and private buses are available to reach these places. It takes around 2–2.5 hours from Pune, 1.5 hours from Baramati, Some 2.5 hours from Pandharpur.

By Train

Nira city links Miraj and Kolhapur by rail, and the long-route trains do not stop at this station. However, there are some specific trains which take halt. The fastest train from Nira to Pune Junction is Phaltan - Pune Demu Express Special, which covers approximately 85 Km in 2 - 2.5 hours.
